Detailed Review of Moto One Action

Moto One Action Review

After launching certain phones with android one, Moto has launched Moto One Action at the price tag of Rs. 13,999.

This phone comes in only one variant i.e., 4 Gb RAM and 128 Gb storage.

Detailed Specifications are as follows: –

LOOKS AND DESIGN

  • Talking about the front look it has a punch hole display which is better than notch according to me.
  • Coming to the rear side, it has a vertical triple camera set up along dual flash and fingerprint reader on the Moto logo which looks very classy.
  • It is available in three colours Denim Blue, Pearl White and Aqua Teal. My personal favourite is Pearl White.

BODY

  • The dimensions of this phone are 160.1 x 71.2 x 9.2 mm which I think is little bit thick according to the battery provided with it.
  • Weight of this phone is acceptable as it weighs only 176 gm.
  • It comes with Corning Gorilla glass but the version is unknown. As per the sources, it is Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
  • The back panel of the phone is made up of glossy plastic similar to some kind of plastic used in Realme Phones.
  • Well, this phone comes with IPX 6 rating which makes this phone splash resistant. So you can freely use this phone in Rain but don’t take it in the pool.
  • It comes with Hybrid Dual Sim Slot, so you can enjoy dual sim experience that lots of phones are still missing.

DISPLAY

  • Well this phone does not come with Amoled Display but it does come with LTPS IPS LCD screen which will definitely enhance your experience.
  • Screen size of this phone is 6.3 inch which is pretty normal nowadays.
  • Screen Resolution is FHD+ (1080 x 2520) which is obviously better than MI A3’ s HD+ display.
  • So here, A unique thing comes about this phone that is its aspect ratio is neither 18:9 nor 19.5:9. It comes with 21:9 aspect ratio which moto calls as CinemaVision Dispay. So, it is definitely going to make your video watching experience better.

PLATFORM

  • As it is mentioned in its name itself, it comes with Android One which will bring all latest android version at least for 2 years. However, it comes with android pie out of the box.
  • Moto is using Samsung’s Chipset which is Exynos 9609 which is quite good for performing day-to-day tasks.
  • It is based on Octa Core CPU in which 4 Cores are clocked at 2.2 GHz with cortex A73 and another 4 cores are clocked at 1.6 GHz with cortex A53 which is pretty decent according to the price tag.
  • Mali G72 MP3 is used in it which based on 16 nm and this GPU is one year old which is quite disappointing.

MEMORY

  • It comes with hybrid slot so you can only use 2 sims or 1 sim and memory card at a time.
  • But its internal storage is pretty enough according to a standard user i.e., 128 Gb.
  • There is only one RAM option available in this device that is 4 Gb which is not enough for a heavy user.

REAR CAMERA

  • Well when it comes to camera, it is the most highlighted key feature of any of the phone.

Moto One Action comes a triple camera set up. Main camera is of 12 MP with f/1.8 aperture, secondary camera is of 16 MP which is an ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture, well this camera also works as a dedicated video camera @ 1080p, and the third camera is of 5 MP which is a depth sensor camera with f/2.2 aperture.

This phone has a good camera set up but not better than it competitors like MI A3 and Realme 5 pro which provides a 48 MP and triple and quad camera set up as well.

If camera is your priority then go for its alternatives.

  • When it comes to video recording, it does support 4K video recording @ 30fps and 1080p @30/60fps with gyro EIS.
  • Other features – Dual LED dual-tone flash, HDR, Panorama etc.

FRONT CAMERA

  • When it comes selfie camera it is also a very important part to all of us.

It has a single 12 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Again, MI A3 and Realme 5 Pro are the winners here as they come with 32 MP and 16 MP selfie camera.

I have seen many sample shots of the camera and clearly Moto One Action is taking apart here.

SOUND

  • It does have a 3.5mm Jack. So, no adapter is not needed which is good.
  • It also has a dedicated mic for Active noise cancellation.
  • Well say hello to Dolby Audio Experience with this phone which will enhance your experience of listening music in speakers.

COMMUNICATIONS

  • It has a common Wi-fi 802.11 with dual band frequency which is pretty in any phone in this segment. It also has Wi-fi direct.
  • Bluetooth Version 5.0 is given with it.
  • It supports NFC which is a great thing for a phone at this price.
  • Nowadays most of the phones do not come with FM Radio, but you will get FM Radio as well in this phone. Personally, I never listen FM radio in the phone. So, it does not matter for me at least.
  • Guess what, you are getting Type C USB support and USB on-the-go with this phone.

SENSORS

  • So you get rear mounted Fingerprint reader, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass and other all sensors as well.

BATTERY

  • It comes with Li-Po 3500 mAh battery.

If you a normal user and does not play PubG and all the battery will last up to 16-18 Hrs. easily. But If a heavy user, you will need to charge your phone twice a day at least.

  • It comes with 10-watt charger and does not support fast charging either which is quite disappointing in this generation of smartphones.

It does have type C support and still there is no fast charging which is indigestible.

VERDICT

Moto One action provides you a pure stock android experience which is appreciated by most of the people.

But whenever we talk about this price segment, there is a huge competition. So, pricing performs a major role here. Recently launched MI A3 which is also based on android one and Realme 5 pro are very good options if we ignore HD+ display of MI A3.

Price of Moto One Action is little bit high according to the specifications it provides, well there are few basic things which are missing in this phone like fast charging. If you pay 1000 rupees more you can buy realme 5 pro or Vivo Z1 pro which I think are best smartphones for now in this segment.

There is nothing bad about this phone but you are getting better features in its alternatives.

According to me the price tag of Rs. 12,000-12,500 would’ve suited for this phone.

If you are a die-hard Moto fans and like that “Hello, Moto” Ringtone then you can surely purchase it.

Thanking you

Namaste!!
